Work Exchange Program
Work Exchange Program participants help support our conference in big ways. We could not do this without you! In exchange for service hours during the conference, volunteers receive registration credits (discounts) that offset their cost to attend.
EXCHANGE OPTIONS
5 hours of service = $125 discount​​
VOLUNTEER ARRIVAL
Mandatory volunteer meetings take place as follows, meaning volunteers must arrive by these times:
Pre-Conference volunteers: 12pm on Thursday
Main Conference volunteers: 10am on Friday
VOLUNTEER TASKS
The most common volunteer tasks include assisting with parking, serving at the registration table, supporting meal services, monitoring workshops and helping keep the tea station stocked and tidy.
VOLUNTEER SCHEDULES
Being part of our work exchange program requires flexibility and a willingness to shift at a moment's notice if something unexcepted happens. You will receive your volunteer schedule the week of the conference, however we reserve the right to change it if our needs change or another volunteer cancels. Your volunteer shift(s) will likely overlap with at least one class, possibly two and we cannot work around requests that will ensure you are able to attend a specific workshop.
LODGING REQUIREMENTS
We highly recommend that volunteers choose an option with lodging to ensure that they are not late to their shifts.
EXPECATIONS
Most shifts require standing, walking, and light lifting. If you need a stationary opportunity, we will do our best to accommodate if you let us know in advance. Any concerns about expectations should be discussed before entering into a Work Exchange Program Agreement.
IMPORTANT NOTE
We cannot "hold" work exchange spots. Once you are approved, you will need to be prepared to register within 2 weeks of approval or you will need to reapply. If the conference is less than 30 days away when you are approved, registration will be required within 48 hours of approval.
